デンゼルの在り方。

面白い内容だし、事実映画も面白い。けれど、どうしても好きになれる映画ではなかった。デンゼル・ワシントンの演技が好きになれなかったし、メリル・ストリープも素晴らしいと思えなかった。
デンゼル・ワシントンの好きな所って、あんなに真面目で誠実そうな顔をしていて、アンチヒーローを巧く演じちゃう所が好きだった。最近の彼は、子供を渋く救ってみたり、渋く不倫してみたり。この映画でも、自分の過去を引きずりながらも、巨大な陰謀に立ち向かう渋い男。しかも、キャプテンという立場が良く似合う男だった。
けれど、デンゼルが本当に似合う男は、反骨精神あるちょっと悪。「Glory／グローリー」の時のように、反発しながらカッコいい男。「Malcolm X／マルコムX」みたいに、底辺から立ち上がった男。
デンゼルが最初からカッコいい男を演じても、そのままじゃん...と思ってしまう。それは、メリル・ストリープも然り。自分をコントロールしてそうな人が他人をコントロールしてても面白くなかった。彼女の「恋に落ちて」みたいに、自分がコントロール出来てない方が数倍面白かった。今回はオノ・ヨーコにしか見えなかった。
そんな中、演技で無茶苦茶カッコよかったのが、ジェフリー・ライト。彼の精神が病んでしまっていた演技が最高にはまる。

政治的にも、タイミングよく公開したつもりだったんだろうけど、今ひとつ話題も作れなかったのが残念。

何かもっと違うデンゼルが見たくなった映画。

フランク・シナトラ主演の「影なき狙撃者」の現代版リメイク。デンゼル・ワシントンが主演。そのワシントンと「The Hurricane／ハリケーン」で共演したリーヴ・シュレイバーが共演。同じく「John Q／ジョン・Q」でワシントンと共演した、キンバリー・エルズや、メリル・ストリープ、ジェフリー・ライト等が共演。
