●●　レビュー Every blacks have stories to tell. 15才以上も離れている夫と結婚しているレイチェル”ナニー”クロスビーは、自分の故郷であるヴァージニアの小さな町から親戚等をニューヨークのラッカワナに呼び、自分が経営しているボーダリングハウス（下宿所）に住まわせて面倒を見ている。いつものように金曜のフライフッシュの日に、ルーベンが生まれた。やがて両親が別居を始め、ルーベンは暫くナニーのボーダリングハウスに住む事になったのが、そこには多くの住人が住んでおり、ルーベンの生活に影響していく... 本作品にも出演しているルーベン・サンティアゴ＝ハドソンの自叙伝。元々は、彼自身がワンマンショーとして舞台で演じていた作品が、ハリ・ベリーが気に入りテレビ映画化された。 男の子の目から見た一人の女性の物語。その男の子が素直だからか、その女性の物語が凄く美しく見える。自分が女性として、ああいう風に終わりたいと思わせる力強い物語でもある。 また、出てくる男の人たちも多彩で面白い。劇中「Every black men have stories to tell」という言葉通り、出てくる人々すべてが面白いストーリーを持っている。それにより、ルーベンという少年が少しずつ成長する姿がほのぼのしていて面白い。 ブラックムービーの真髄。ブラックムービーは、一代成功記ばかりだと言われるけれど、それでもやっぱり、こんなほのぼのしたリアルな物語は、他に無くてユニークで面白い。黒人の物語に尽きる事は決してないと確信できる映画。 (Reviewed >> 10/11/05：DVDにて鑑賞)
