もっと俳優としてのステイタスを獲得して貰いたいと願う一方、このままの状態で色んな役に挑戦して貰いたいとも思う。主役を演じた「パンサー」の演技も好きだけど、ちょっと情けない「Vampire in Brooklyn／ヴァンパイア・イン・ブルックリン」みたいな役も素敵だった。シリアスからコメディまで器用にこなすのは、最近の役者が見習うべきだろう。「A Different World」の優柔不断な普通な青年が印象に残るが、一番好きなのは「Between the Brothers」での演技。

幼い頃から俳優になる事を夢みたカーディム・ハーディソンは、「The Cosby Show／コスビーショー」で、ビル・コスビーの父親を演じていたアーリー・ヘイマンに師事し、演技を学ぶ。また、そのヘイマンが出演していた「The Cosby Show／コスビーショー」にゲスト出演し、リサ・ボネが主演でスピンオフしたドラマ「A Different World」のボネの相手役で、レギュラーに抜擢された。７年間続いたそのドラマは、ハーディソンの人気にも繋がった。その後は、スパイク・リーの「School Daze／スクールデイズ」や、キーネン・アイボリー・ウェイアンズの「I'm gonna git you Sucka!／ゴールデンヒーロー」等に出演し、確実に映画のキャリアを築いた。マリオ・ヴァン・ピープルスの「Panther／パンサー」で主役に。またその頃に、シンガーのシャンテ・ムーアと結婚し、１児を授かるも、４年後に離婚。現在は、シドニー・ポワチエの愛娘シドニー・ポワチエとテレビで共演中。現在も映画にテレビと活躍中だ。

大ヒットしたTVシリーズ「A Different World」に一緒に出演していたクリー・サマーと長い間交際を続けていた。同番組内では、ハーディソンは、サマーの親友役であるジャスミン・ガイの恋人役だった。
