60年代終わりから映画で活躍しているジャネット・デュボイスは、1970年代の大人気TVシリーズ「Good Times」のレギュラーキャラクターのWillona役で有名。そして、そのTVシリーズのオープニングテーマ曲を作曲し歌ったのも彼女だ。そんなデュボイスは、ブロードウェイで「A Rasing in Sun」や「Golden Boys」と言った有名舞台を経験しているベテラン女優。映画でも、シドニー・ポワチエとビル・コスビーがコンビのコメディ「A Piece of the Action」や、キーネン・アイボリー・ウェイアンズのパロディ映画「I'm gonna git you sucka!」等に出演。エディ・マーフィがプロデュースしたTVアニメシリーズ「The PJｓ」の声でエミー賞を２度受賞している。
